'His reforms included highly controversial large scale post office closures in the thousands, layoffs of Royal Mail staff, changes in working practices, and the ending of the second daily delivery and moving the first daily delivery to later in the day. While at the Royal Mail, Crozier's salary, one of the largest in the country for the head of a publicly owned body, was criticised in light of the changes being made to the Royal Mail workforce. Ongoing reforms eventually led to large scale industrial disputes and strike action in both 2007 and 2009 onwards.'
He was followed by Dame Moya Greene, ex Canada Post in 2010. 'Replacing the departed Adam Crozier from early July, the first non-Briton and first woman to hold the post, she oversaw the privatisation of Britain's postal service. Greene, who was in 2010 the highest paid UK Civil Servant on a basic salary of £498,000, is based in London. Her total compensation for 2012/13 was reported by the Royal Mail as £3.7 million.' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moya_Greene
She left in 2018 with a golden goodbye of £1million to be replaced by Rico Back. Now he's off.
'Mr Back - who was given a £6m "golden hello" from Royal Mail when he took on the role in 2018 - has been put on gardening leave until 15 August, during which he will receive his pay and benefits.
He will then receive nine monthly payments totalling £480,000. Royal Mail also said it would provide up to £50,000 towards his legal fees and a maximum £25,000 towards outplacement support.'
It's been a honey pot for these troughers and for the City boys when it was privatised but very bad news for the actual workers who have faced redundancies as the business has contracted in line with the economy. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52673690
Any Postman Pats on here to comment?
Not to worry though. P Charles has managed to utter a few words of thanks to them from one of the very many royal estates, 'Berk Hall'. Q How's his brother Andrew?
