I haven't commented on either piece. I almost never comment on the *science* of anything because I'm just a layperson. But I do sometimes make political comment. Grimes makes this weird political argument (which undermines his credibility): He contends that the onus is on others to prove that a new technology is dangerous rather than on the creators to prove it is safe. That's a bizarre argument. If I brought a new car or drug (or whatever) to market, surely the onus is on me to do the tests to prove its safety. Early in the life of the tobacco industry, some people warned that smoking could damage human health, but they could not prove that contention. Surely the onus was on the cigarette producers to prove their product was safe. And that's the natural place for the onus to lie because the creator has full access to everything, e.g. chemical formulae, production processes, data. It's not reasonable to expect the 'scaremonger' to prove danger because he's an outsider anyway; his duty, as in legal cases, is simply to raise 'reasonable doubt'. Of course, the ideal person for warning about danger is a whistleblower because that person is an *insider* so does indeed have good access to crucial info. There are certainly considerable whistleblowers warning about vaccines; my understanding is that the same applies to 5G. |
