I don't think any of the serious people who talk about these things think that these bad things somehow emanate from our whiteness itself, or that everything's fixed now obama was president or patel is home secretary (sure some liberal dicks might think these sorts of things). I've experienced class prejudice from the police here in blighty many times (pulled because scruffy clothes, vehicle etc). This is there for black people too, but with additional racism (strucutural and personal) on top of it (i have also experienced this while being pulled with black people) - not having quite as much contempt/unfair treatment from police is part of my privilege as a white poor person, just like the white person in the nice car with a suit on has the privilege of less contempt again; even obsequiousness if the car's really posh (a posh black person would have similar treatment once the police are aware of their poshness i guess, but they're likely to think drug dealer till then). And generally the increased chance of being in a higher class in the first place is also an aspect of historical structural 'white privilege' in the uk (regardless of how many non white people populate the visible part of the highest classes).

Both these things exist and intertwine - i'm not going to stop using the historical concept of white privilege in my understanding just because some liberal arseholes want to twist it for their own use and ditch the class part ("black female CEOs and then we're done") - i'll just try to explain it better - when people start being allowed to talk about structural arguments, it's harder to avoid talking about economics and class as part of the same analysis anyway ('they''ll still try)

I do think that race privilege derives from class privilege, from historical economic arrangments such as slavery, colonialism etc, and that class is primary in the sense that where else would power be ultimately expressed. But race was an additional aspect used by our owners to divide us right from the start of the labour movements (especially in the us), so consequently it seems sensible to include race in our analysis in this sense at least if we're going to be accurate about how we've been ####ed over (this would also include analysing how scumbags like the clintons exploit the same issues in the service of the very system that created the problems in the first place - we can walk and chew gum)
