I tend to go along with large chunks of GG's political analysis on other issues, but in this instance he hasn't got a balanced view on Gaddafy. Meanwhile Gaddafy did have some unpalatable quirks imo. Nevertheless we shouldn't take it away from him what good he has achieved for Libyan people in his time.
