I have as yet to mask, it is mandatory here but retailers say they will not enforce it.
I have no mask but being of my ilk I will mask up with my kuffiyeh, while being careful not loudly ejaculate any takbirs (allahuakbar) not even a quiet bismillah as I enter Centra for the Whiskey and the 8% beer I am currently enjoying....
the economic and social catastrophe in which we are now mired hasn't begun to bite yet, I dream of Munchs Scream but as she is masked, in my dream, I get the impression she is laughing...
we have literally no covid here, none but the car parks are now full of British and Dublin cars and Kildare and some other places have been locked down on the basis of a smattering of positive tests...it just seems like an avalanche of increasingly hysterical and onerous diktats which take no account of the fact that they are impossible to follow for many people, easy for sad old misanthropes like me, I can only imagine what it is like for others, things are getting tense in the west of Ireland but fear is keeping everyone circumspect, there are checkpoints all over the midlands, no non-resident is allowed in and residents may not leave their county. Lockdown.
fortunately Ken Waldron was kind enough to give me a link to psalm 22 rendered in such way that I feel ready for what this new is, but to be honest I was never much of a fan of the old normal..just used to it, weren't we all, people are really really beginning to suffer here from all this social destruction. All that is solid becomes air or something Sigi Bauman init?
now the sun shines breeze is gentle all i can hear is the river running over rocks and birdsong..look at the people what they doing..take it away Rev Cheeks
