Nothing to do with ten years of austerity running down the NHS; nothing to do failing to prepare for a pandemic by heeding the warning of Exercise Cygnus; nothing to do with failure to implement test-trace-and isolate; nothing to do with late lockdown etc. Economic fallout from virus and lockdown can be used as cover for economic fallout from no-deal hard brexit. Brexit would have been a rip-roaring success if it wasn't for the damn virus, don't you know. And, of course, a lot of the blame can be passed onto the public for not following the 'clear advice' about masks, social distancing, lockdowns etc. The next decade of austerity is all your own fault, you see.
