Surely fission or fusion radioactive etc. residue would tell one if the nuclear explosion happened. I remember there were speculations after 911 if this may be the scenario at play. The absence of residue indicated this had to be ruled out. If anyone had any sense this would be the first thing to check. Has the residue been checked? I thought Beirut explosion more akin to Halifax one, where: Nearly all structures within an 800-metre (half-mile) radius, including the community of Richmond, were obliterated In the absence of any radioactive residue etc, it would be hard to make the case for a fission/fusion device being used imo, but then I am no expert.
