As well as the political and strategic allegiances of the Hariri mob in charge of the port, who may well have supplied terrorists in Syria with AN for their truck bombs, sold some to farmers in the Bekaa, etc. But there's an update to the article I have to post - after realising that the white disc observed was not above ground as I initially concluded, but was in fact a "crack" in the water just like that in the Baker N test. Thus the earthquake that many people felt around Beirut.
Now the FBI has taken over an investigation there will be a 9/11 job on it... so don't hold your breath for samples and recordings. I'd be surprised if some radiation didn't accompany the flash of detonation, but probably missed as the shock wave hit them moments later.
BUt remember, even if that much AN DID blow up, its characteristics are nothing like what happened - as explained by the Italian professor I linked to.
