[For clarification - The first sentence was written following my misinterpretation of the photograph and purpose of Jamie's original post. I have seen in the Heat of the Night a long time ago but didn't recognise the protagonists from the still. I incorrectly presumed I was being referred to. Nevertheless the rest of the post stands so I unpinned it rather than deleted it. Sorry for not adding this clarification earlier.]
I set up this board as a way of continuing a resource which was second to none on the internet. Real citizen journalism.
I admin the board with a light touch. Less than a handful of original posters banned in five years though several people, including people I consider friends, left because of some of my decisions to not exclude.
I acknowledged at the beginning that any position of admin responsibility effectively made me the warden in a milgram experiment. I set up a separate forum for debating process and a way forward. No one used it so boardhost closed it.
If people collectively feel that my period at the helm is over that is absolutely fine. This is definitively not a prison.
I made a second board as a stop gap raft in case boardhost or the "intelligence" services closed the first at short notice and so that when this time was reached people can choose to move over.
