"We have achieved simple clarity in the discussion."
Really?
"The official narrative is that covid is an unprecedented highly infectious deadly virus that is causing a significant (or massive) amount of excess deaths above the usual numbers."
There's nothing "official" about this narrative: it's a consensus the world over because people: scientists, doctors, health workers, carers etc have observed the infection: some have caught it and its yes, it is deadly for some: especially the elderly or those with a weakened or compromised immune system or lung issues. Otherwise as Dan has pointed out several times as a novel virus it has other unusual effects: it does not act like a normal pneumonial infection for one and appears to have some other unusual and long term debilitating effects on the survivors.
"Many scientists and commentators (e.g. Coleman) are saying the official narrative is bollocks for reasons including, the numbers don't show that, plus the way(s) numbers are determined is itself bollocks."
Most aren't at all and on numbers as pointed out repeatedly again and again I go by excess death totals. To put it simply the "cold standard" is statistically gold standard and can't really be faked. Quibles about other underlying causation? Nearly everone who dies of seasonal flu has other underlying health issues too. Likewise the numbers used to inform us which years had a bad seasonal flu are also extrapolated using the mortality figures. If other words if you don't believe them consequentially you cant believe the annual flu figures either. -As the deaths correlate with period of greatest infection there's no real point in me wasting my time visiting crank hoax sites.
"The culture of compliance that Coleman criticises is when people choose to comply out of habit/fear/deference."
Deference to authority? Never had any: ever... and its got me into all kinds of trouble and kept me the poor man I am today. There have been several times in my life when keeping my trap shut would have put me on a financially lucrative path. But the rules of the road are there for reasons that I think pretty self evident.
