That kind of deranged red-baiting should be highlighted and mercilessly ridiculed but I don't recall seeing any MSM commentary on it. The reason of course is that the American liberal media has been the global epicentre of red-baiting for the past 4 years, with China having replaced Russia as the Great Communist Menace-du-jour. Even if they don't share this particular shade of McCarthyite lunacy, they're all in on the lunacy itself and its main purveyor. So on the one hand they would be, implicitly, mercilessly ridiculing themselves and on the other undermining a demonization campaign that is at the heart of their own mission. |
