I think cross purposes. Only joined the fray to point out that there does seem evidence for 50000 (or at best 28000) from flu that year, which is, despite this year and the short span with large spike, still incredibly bad. Also for me commenting on the difference of attitude previous years to illness affecting the old and infirm compared to this year. Then, hardly a blip on average consciousness. Now, more important than all other prevailing disease. Personally I'd like to see all round care and motivation toward minimising the suffering but it seems as a society were not much good at that.
