The misuse of the word 'Stalinist' gets really irritating Archived Message

It's used as a term of abuse. Particularly by the liberal/pseudo left. If you want to condemn someone or some group, call them a Stalinist. It's really quite childish. |
What we know about the Soviet Union of Lenin and Stalin comes mainly from the western corporate media. Thankfully, there is a process of reevaluation taking place. We (should) know more about the then-Soviet Union than ever before through the opening up of the archives (of the Communist Party) and research by Dougin, Zemskov and Xlevjnik, but we're still left with a barrage of cold war propaganda. Just one myth that has been debunked through this work is about the stories of the widespread jailing of the population during the SU of Lenin and Stalin: at no time was the percentage of the population jailed more than the percentage jailed in the USA.
