anage. In Stephen Cohen's recent book "The Victims Return" there are many photographs of tiny little kids wearing prison uniform and shaven heads. I'm no expert but they look like they're suffering from PTSD. Stalin would destroy whole families. Cohen manages to track down the wife of Bukharin, released by Kruschev from the Gulag. Bukharin was, of course, one of the main instigators of the 1917 revolution. Nearly all the top 1917 revolutionaries were killed in Stalin's "show trials" after first being tortured. It's irrational to believe that you can support Lenin and the 1917 Revolutionaries along with the later Stalin who detested those same revolutionaries and set about eliminating them. Your comment that access to the archives in 1990 has exonerated Stalin is preposterous. If anything, access to the archives has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt Stalin's crimes. Cohen has certainly put the archives to good use. As has Moshe Lewin for his "The Soviet Century". Lewin was a strong supporter of Lenin but was appalled by Stalin. You totally ignore what Stalin did in Spain in 1936 by colluding with the fascists and the so-called western democracies in destroying the social revolution and thousands of real revolutionaries.
