Zero, I think. “Everywhere fifth columnists facilitated the Nazi invasions, except in the Soviet Union where there was no fifth column. Stalin had eliminated it. He may have uniquely accomplished this feat by accepting a high false positive rate as the cost of extirpating the disease, catching the innocent and harmless in his net as well as the dangerous and guilty.” Some of the comments below John Pilger's Twitter link to his article: Come on man, Stalin was leading the fight against Uncle Sam, tell me how this label isn't exactly wrong Stalinist trial??? Parenti called it the "left-liberal genuflection" I'm a fan John but terribly ironic that you fight against the efforts to control the historical narrative (eliminate whistleblowing) in current era by repeating sucessfully manufactured narrative (Stalin bad) from a previous era. Read 'Khruschev Lied', try to find factual error why is left anticommunism such a pervasive dogma? what are liberals trying to do by invoking a right-wing meme like "Stalinist Trials"? American observers at the time found them fine, then the right-wing propaganda machine spun them as "show trials". It's dumb for Pilger to go along with it.
