I get called all sorts of endearments; lorry drivers who see my tresses call me love, then look startled when they see a beard. :O) I usually say that its all right because I could carry it off and that I've said sir or madam to the wrong gender a few times. Darl is the one I like best because I'd nver heard it until I went to a shop in Hull after I moved and a woman behind the counter used it. It was so unexpected that I blushed crimson. It had been a while since I'd last done that. |
Some women say these things too. Sheila's view is that she doesn't need to be rescued by pompous arseholes or bogus feminists who don't believe in freedom of speech. She doesn't like me saying "feminazi" though, because there's so much evidence now that some people use feminist terms to oppress rather than emancipate.
