Forgive me TN, but my point was simpler than that. If effectively you remove the virus from circulation like South Korea did, one wouldn't have to have these continuous lockdowns and quarantines whilst waiting for the vaccine. You wouldn't need the vaccine if the virus is not around.
Now, if the virus *is* around (like it is here at the mo), the government can pursue the test and trace strategy until they get to where South Korea got a few months ago. Will they? Will they ####. They pretend.
I understand it may be theoretically possible that if the population's immune system is strengthened by other means, it becomes less of a problem and one could theoretically dispense with vaccine. In other words we need to time-travel 10 years before the start of austerity (which has basically weakened natural immunity in the population) to get to the starting point. We don't have that luxury. There is no time at the mo, unless on an individual basis (not the population overall).
In essence Bozo and co are not looking after our interests and all they can think of disaster capitalism's dictums and how to make dosh for their pals, whatever the outcome.
