I was simply responding to the Eds' 'Trump must lose', not making a point about swing state voting. I agree with your point about voting being 'choices between bad options offered by a failed democracy', and generally think of voting as a low-leverage action compared to other tactics, eg: civil disobedience. My 'case' would be that the world might be better off with a corrupt, incompetent sociopath like Trump in the presidency rather than a corrupt, competent sociopath like Biden (or rather, the people around him - he can't string a sentence together). As an outsider the important thing seems to be that the US empire falls and stops f*ing up the planet as quickly as possible. Not that the other countries would necessarily do any better, but that would be a key step in crashing the globalised industrial economy, which is what needs to happen to halt the rise in ghg emissions. That seems more likely to happen under a Trump rather than a Biden presidency. Empires always get buffoons leading them in their twilight years; maybe Trump could learn the fiddle?! Dunno, could be wrong and a 'managed decline' would be preferable in many ways. Unfortunately we ran out of time about 40 years ago!
