Wow, that was fascinating, thanks! I had only heard Chomsky's thumbnail sketch of the affair. I see I was wrong about the name of the earlier incarnation of Warner. What a little fascist William Sarnoff was/is. I cut my activist teeth learning about and working on Canada's involvement in the genocide in East Timor, so volume 1 of the "The Washington Connection and Third World Fascism" was indispensable and a big part of my political awakening. Timor was one of the "benign bloodbaths". Great book.
