I've got a headache. It comes and goes. Sometimes I'm really sluggish in the mornings. Gave up coffee the other day and that very day I felt like the proverbial pig had shat in my head.

Seriously though. Chronicity is a result of toxicity: diet; patterns of rest; exposure to daylight; balance of stress, relaxation, work; psychological patterns; posture - all (and probably more) contribute in differing degrees, and overlap like a Venn diagram, to toxaemia / inner toxicity.

Fever is the mode par excellance that the body uses to address this, speeding the metabolism of the endogenous and exogenous toxins. If the body can't mount a fever or the toxic load is too great or the healing crisis is suppressed by the ream of drugs that mimic the body's fight-or-flight response - that's, most of them - then chronic problems ensue.

The idea there is some virus that can't be shaken off, which the immune system (90% physical barriers, +/- 10% humoral) does not affect, and outside the above factors that contribute to immunity / lack of it - is pseudo-scientific rubbish. A lot to do with truth-according-to-the-technosphere; peddled by weirdos with a god-complex and Cleverer-than-thou boys whose bitter sense of impotence clouds their intelligence, among others.
