After the BBC's hour-long Panorama last night on the criminal activities of HSBC, Barclays, Standard Chartered, Chase Morgan and other top banks, laundering trillions of dollars which they knew to be dirty money, I expected major headlines on the news websites this morning (not really). I checked the Business section on google news and 20 or 30 items down it mention that HSBC's share price has dropped 25%. So the story has been covered and will be quietly shelved, soon to be forgotten. Any criminal prosecutions? Any CEOs to face charges or lose their jobs? Ant repercussions at all? Naw. |
