Your kind thoughts and words are much appreciated Alan. I realize that I am one of very many needing help from the NHS but as an ex worker in the cancer centre of the local DGH and the younger sister of a retired NHS consultant in the SW who worked for OUR NHS for +40 years, I do feel rather abandoned.

My GP seems to be unconcerned and the cancer specialist who first treated me successfully six years ago appears to be overwhelmed by the workload. I have not been seen or examined by either - the GP and the consultant have both corresponded by e-mail back in the early Summer. I had an ultrasound scan in September (so far unreported to me) but I know I really need a PET CT scan. A blood test initially revealed the existence of cancer but not its location or its extent.

I have just listened to Messrs Johnson, Whitty and Vallance but in no way feel reassured by the waffle, especially not by Johnson's.

PS The GP, new to the practice, even refused to classify me as vulnerable (I am elderly and with an obstructed airway) when the lockdown took place in March. So I had to go shopping for supplies relying just on a face mask for protection. So far still alive!
