Buy compatibles. Buy a laser. I use a B/W Kyocera. Compatibles (£11) last ages. Archived Message

You can get cheaper than Kyocera but if you want reliability... Once upon a time, before I switched to laser, I used to refill the old colour cartridges by drilling a hole and pouring in ink. Dirt cheap. And messy. Make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. And go bright green sometimes. Or red. Epsom were the fussiest back then. They used put a sensor into their little cartridges to stop you refilling them or using compatibles. They probably still do. Do a search for something like "using inkjet compatibles". They don't make their money selling printers. They make the money selling cheap printers that require very expensive ink. We all fell for it. Once. You also need to ask yourself if you really need colour.
