Not so much wrong as creating a bald-face lie out of clean cloth.. Archived Message

..the danger is, it is very hard to explain to people who are unfamiliar, why the PCR test a highly-specific and well-controlled test - capable of being precisely controlled not only for every alternative virus, but also with many diferent sets of simultaneous primers for the TARGET virus with the stipulation that they all have to light up in order to render a positive result. It is a very clean test, based on nucleic acid annealing kinetics that are extremely well defined over many decades - more so than almost any other molecular biological interaction. The only thing is, because the PCR reaction has zero noise, it is very sensitive, because sensitivity is the ratio of signal to noise. BUT you don't have to run it at maximum sensitivity, just like you don't hvae to operate a camera in gigapixel mode if the fine detail is irrelevant. Sure, you can zoom in from 1000 kilometers and find a fly in the ointment, but you are ONLY looking for an elephant from 500 meters away, so its just a calculated deflection.

You can see how much MOA had to write to give something even approaching an explanation. That is precisely why the test was attacked: It is the nature of the game, the nature of the whole strategy of the gish gallop: You are not supposed to be able to keep up with the scattershot of lies. It can make you pretty angry to be attacked in this way, because you can bet one thing for sure: These people are not saying "Austerity doesn't work". No, they are picking on something that actually works better than they do. They are just slobs, who are lashing out, or to put it charitably, innocent people jumping to conclusions shall we say.

But you don't have to get angry, you just have to summarize the truth:
