Lawfare: what it is and how it works Given Judge Vanessa Barater cut short Assange witness testimony a day early because she'd "heard enough" and has now retired for tea until January 4, it's interesting to contemplate the way 'Lawfare' is used by judiciary and meekly accepted by those who buy in to an aura of legitimacy. Assange's one-time lawyer William Kunstler (RIP) put it rather well, back in 1970: "All tyrants learn that it is better to do this thing with some semblance of legality than to do it without that pretence."
William's widow Margaret (herself a lawyer) edited a book called "In Defence of Julian Assange" (along with Tariq Ali) [OR Books 2019]
