It's a shambles. The service here is outsourced to Serco based in a temporary building outside the local DGH. Having had two infections I was told by my GP to have one carried out but the Serco call centre in Glasgow refused to give me an appointment on the basis that I did not have a raised temperature and/or cough. Others are reporting similar experiences so in other words the decision of a jobsworth in a call centre takes precedence over that of a medical professional with long training and experience.
