Yeah, I wouldn't bother if I was you. Didn't come across anything particularly original or more profound than the kind of thing I was writing in my diary at age 15. Reading this guy it seems most of the Isha practice stems from Hindu traditions and yoga, but mostly passed off as his own brilliant invention with no acknowledgement to the sources he has pilfered from: https://www.quora.com/q/gqwzrcerruczcwtn/Is-Isha-Foundation-a-Cult-Is-Sadhguru-Jaggi-Vasudev-a-Cult-Leader This quote for me says it all: 'Even though I have a deep appreciation of Sanskrit, I never bothered to learn it because my own vision had never failed me and I did not want to read ancient texts written in Sanskrit and clutter myself with all that traditional whatever.' (from this critical essay in 'Gurus of Modern Yoga', preview: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=-cyOAQAAQBAJ&pg=PA283&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false ' Apparently one interpretation of the 'sadh' part of his name means 'uneducated', and he seems to take pride in this refusal to learn from other people. That kind of sublime arrogance plus total lack of humility is a recipe for a personality cult and blind devotion to authority IMO. It boggles my mind too that apparently smart, worldly people could fall for it, or view what he's saying as profound or insightful in any sense. Thanks for the book recommendation - I've a dim recollection of someone mentioning it to me before, might have to track it down. cheers, I PS: @Keith - well, quite
