My issue is quite simple: if you advocate measures to solve a problem, you should work out what the consequences are. And how does the world actually do that? and how do you compare that with the potential damage of the virus: itself scale unknown? The issue is not simple: your problem is that you think it is. The government here and in the US were all for the "devil take the hindmost" cull approach until others quantified the cost of inaction and of course the knock on effects for other hospital treatments and yet the action they did take were half baked delaying measures as frequently pointed out here.
