And how does the world actually do that? and how do you compare that with the potential damage of the virus: itself scale unknown? The issue is not simple: your problem is that you think it is. What? So you don't think you (or governments) should work out the consequences, or at least try to because ... you don't know how to, or it is too difficult? That's criminally irresponsible! I've just told you how to start eg the consequences of social distancing. And yes, on the world stage these things can be estimated -- as the UN have done (see eg here https://unctad.org/system/files/official-document/osg2020d1_en.pdf where they speak of pushing 130 million people into extreme poverty). But it seems all that doesn't matter because you're still hung up about the fact that Johnson et al didn't lock up earlier. Sorry, but that sounds like Blair pointing to bad guy Saddam while he's being told about the million plus deaths and the horrendous destruction he caused.
