I often wondered how Declassified received their detailed responses from the MoD. The case in point being their Oman piece MoD response in the article posted by sashimi: https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2020-11-30-british-spy-agency-refuses-to-acknowledge-its-bases-in-gulf-dictatorship/ Judging by the time-line it seems likely MoD got slapped on the wrist just prior to this Oman piece (and just before the speech in Parliament) e.g. see MoD letter in response. It seems to me Declassified got their response via the environmental study of the Oman site in this instance ... smart ... haha.
