And genetics is not race (as in keith's post). from memory, only maximum of 15% of genetic variation occurs between racial groupings, while 85% variation happens within groups (ie if you compare genetics between two people of the same racial grouping and two people from widely separated ethinicity, only up to 15% of diversity is accounted for by the latter. The biological concept of race is a specific category which the diversity present in all humans does not reach the threshold of - there is only one human race in biological terms. Visible genetic properties (like melanin) mislead people into thinking there are firmer boundaries than the genetics show.
