African activists who've found gainful employment at international corporates, NGOs and media outlets. Many have new citizenship and new families in countries less beset by poverty and crime than the motherland. They aren't willing to bite the hand that feeds them, by speaking out on 'inconvenient' issues, even though they might recognise injustice on a visceral level and have highly instructive tales of their own to tell.
