The indigenous population of the Americas achieved herd immunity after 95% of them were killed by viruses to which they were naive. It's not as extreme, the deaths will take a few years, the vulnerable will die and then we will have achieved herd immunity. A vaccine is the next best thing but it's too late for tens of thousands now affected in this wave. Best would have been to acted like new zealand and shut our borders early and implemented a test and trace system like south korea. A and b have made it more difficult from the outset. You've lapped it all up.
