I explained that 95% of the american population dying can be considered herd immunity ie herd immunity not always a good thing. My point is not that 95% of people will die but that herd immunity achieved by letting a disease sweep through a population if it means the vulnerable die is a pyrrhic victory. You think the best way to deal with this situation is to let .6% of folk die? - don't worry about the overshoot when hospital systems can't cope - (4%-5% 70 year olds and 5-10% of 80 year olds). Diamond Princess is one estimate for mortality - you seem happy with - 1.8% - rich white folks I guess but consistent with the .6% likely ifr. A vaccine is an experiment, it is second best but it isn't going to kill 10% of 80 year old men. Neither new zealand or south korea is strongly authoritarian. Problem with this country is it's run by people like you who think letting the poor and elderly population die is a price worth paying for not shutting down the economy.
