We should all be on the side of the weak and vulnerable, Der, and I hope you don't think you have the monopoly of such admirable sentiments. But from the general tenor of your somewhat u-intemperate post I get the impression that you put all prisoners into the category of the weak and vulnerable. In so doing, you might be forgetting that some prisoners are in the nick precisely because they've preyed on the weak and vulnerable? As for your rants about the police, that's another topic, not quite sure what they've got to do with my light-hearted exchange with Dan but in any event feel free to carry on, it's very interesting if somewhat embarassing. |
