I have posted this on to the end of a thread but have decided to put it up on its own. "One study estimates that the tax illegitimately avoided by Alliance Boots since 2007 amounts to £1.21 billion – enough to pay for 85,000 new nurses for one year, or to cover the prescription charges for the whole of England for almost three years. At the same time, Boots is expanding its service contracts in the NHS. There is something not right about companies like Boots profiting from the NHS whilst contributing to the country’s public deficit through tax avoidance.".. https://www.medact.org/project/tax-health/alliance-boots-campaign/ They had the pharmacy at Derby Royal and what a mess it was, Talked to a few staff to find out whether they left or were pushed out? Boots didn't seem to be liked by the NHS staff. It got so bad that I asked for my meds which cannot be supplied by my local independent pharmacy to be forwarded to my local boots pharmacy, eventually got the ok but had to really push them. Checked the opening times and go to the local pharmacy to. collect and the pharmacy is closed for an hour the reason being is boots will not employ a qualified pharmacist so have to shut for dinner break (the staff should get the break). But if you want help and beauty products come on in but you can't have an aspirin. They supposedly had a solid contract which the NHS couldn't/didn't want to get out of then out of the blue they are gone and is now run in house and what a difference. I don't touch boots with a barge pole but most people think boots is the company of yesteryear. Do we need reducation camps |
