"Forty-one years ago, Neil Kinnock was a leading figure in the campaign for Britain to vote to leave the then European Economic Community. He believed then that it threatened British jobs and industry." Whatever happened to the decent man he was? Why have the Labour Party consistently failed to make any decent critique of the Wider Europe and the (european), imperialism that created it? I think there are clues in the traditional Labourite attachment to the sound of their own voices (for there are more reasons than just threats to British jobs and industry to oppose european expansionism), and their woeful inability to engage with international institutions unless it is to use them as vehicles to promote the party's own (parochial), policies both nationally and internationally.
