The para you quote is a strawman ( by the author) really isn't it. It is condensing and delineating maleness into machismo. I wonder how ever whether doing precisely the same with gender roles ... Categorising them into absurd stupidity, and accepting received mainstream, as was, constructs about them, opens the space for "newer" labels, adopted antagonistically. If there is such an element to it then I find that element iffy. Dunno much about it. |
