once in power. You are in a fortunate position. There is no shortage of stuff written on Lenin and the revolution. And by Lenin. We need to know what really happened in 1917 so we don't make the same mistakes again. Get rid of the Tzar, fine. Set up Soviets, fine. Withdraw from the First World War, fine. Win the Civil War, fine. Get rid of the Provisional Government and put socialists in power, fine. Kick out all socialists except Bolsheviks and SRs, and later kick out the SRs, leaving only the Bolsheviks in charge, absolutely not! Later, the Bolsheviks getting rid of the Soviets and then the unions, and taking total control for themselves, absolutely not. If you confine yourself to only reading the stuff that is written from the point of view that bolsters your argument you become like the covidiots who seek fervently for those silly little armchair treatises and believe every word. Did you believe everything the Democrats in the US said they would do when they got into power. Why do you believe the SEP? Or any party, for that matter. Don't believe anybody. Scepticism and doubt are your friends. |
