I didn't say it changed over the past four years. I'm talking about a much longer trend, i.e. the increasing influence of the increasingly powerful private sector over things like funding, data access, scientific independence, pure research etc. One example of hundreds would be the influence of Big Pharma on drug trials. Let me put it to you, do you really think think the dominance of the sector by billion dollar, profit-seeking mega-corporations and their funding of university research doesn't influence how the science of such trials is done? My issue was specifically with the statement "Nothing [stands] in the way of scientists doing science" which I think is objectively, and provably untrue. Nothing specific to Trump. |
