Didnt they have guns? That surely makes a difference? I think police and security guys are comfortable with firing on people when there is no personal threat. It's probably not like in the movies where the henchmen all line up to get shot down by the badass just because that's what they were hired to do. Maybe the pay for security at the whitehouse is a bit shit? Most protests I've been to are pretty peaceful, certainly noone carrying (or brandishing) actual weapons. Or am I missing something obvious? |
