IMHO The paradigm the researchers represent is guilty of not recognising the importance of traumatic experience...when I've had "attacks" I've known that it is because of an inability to communicate, if one doesn't recognise the state of mind (such as samadhi), as having "validity" one cannot treat the problems which arise from its experience...
