'CORONAVIRUS LATEST NEWS HEADLINES MARCH 27 - SHOP OPENING HOURS TO BE EXTENDED, COVID BOOSTER SHOTS COULD BEGIN IN SEPTEMBER The rules on shops and pubs being able to open are expected to be eased from April 12 as part of the Government's roadmap for easing lockdown. It will be the second stage of the roadmap, following the relaxing of restrictions on schools reopening and meeting people from outside your household group in March. Boris Johnson has told the country that the restrictions will be eased in four stages, and each which take place at least five weeks apart. This means that there will be four weeks for the impact of the previous stage to be monitored, with a week's notice being given for changes. The next phase is due to take place no earlier than April 12, and the Government says the relaxing of rules will be based on whether certain conditions are met. This includes the successful rollout of the vaccination programme, a fall in hospitalisations and deaths, and the assessment of any new 'variants of concern'.'
