Thousands gather in London for Palestine solidarity march Organisers estimated that more than 180,000 people were in Hyde Park for pro-Palestinian protests on Saturday. Why not go with that as the headline? Or "More than one hundred thousand"? Or "Tens of thousands gather in London.."? It could be one of the largest pro-Palestine demonstrations in British history. Could be but we can't be arsed to check and if it was we'd have to say so which would make it more important. Speeches were made by Labour MPs, anti-war campaigners and trade union members at the rally. Just type "Some shit happened" and be done with it. To be fair, they do cover one speech, John McDonnel but very briefly. Protesters have also gathered in other cities in the UK, including Bristol, Peterborough and Nottingham. In Manchester, thousands gathered in Piccadilly Gardens for an event being run by the Manchester Palestine Solidarity Campaign, with a number of other groups also taking part. Protests are also taking place in Paris, Dublin and other cities around the world. Some of the biggest, most widespread protests that have been seen since the Anti-Iraq War protests and they just wave a vague hand at it.
