Matt Frei does a creditable report on Gaza 📂 Archived Message Posted by scrabb on May 24, 2021, 8:36 pm He gets a lot of stick, does Matt (from me and others over the years) so it's only fair to call out when he does a professional and highly critical report from Gaza on what he referred to, at least twice, as "an open-air prison" in an interview with the Israeli spokesman. His filmed report also showed the devastation to the Gaza health facilities and the ruins of the house where the doctor in charge of Covid preparations was killed along with his wife, mother and father, and his 12 year0old daughter. He highlighted the drones constantly buzzing overhead (I don't understand why the Palestinians don't shoot them down -- couldn't it be done with a high-powered rifle wit telescopic sights?) and also showed the fishing fleet which is not allowed to fish in its own waters. Also, he handled the interview with the Israeli spokesman robustly, and came back at him when the guy said that Frei was giving out wrong or false information -- Frei reiterated his point and wouldn't back down. It was a surprise and very refreshing to see such a report on Channel 4 news. Why a fair and balanced report now, do you suppose?
