I admire Mark Curtis and have posted him here before, but he's not immune to blind spots. Running through the Zaghari-Ratcliffe story... She was originally charged with : "...running a BBC Persian online journalism course which was aimed at recruiting and training people to spread propaganda against Iran". We all know that governments not favoured by the UK US government are targeted for undermining and that media propaganda recruitment by BBC World Service Trust / Media Action etc is part of this service to Imperialism: its what the Brits do. Boris confirmed she was involved: ""When we look at what Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was doing, she was simply teaching people journalism, as I understand it, at the very limit." But then...her employer, Thomson Reuters Foundation: itself a western propaganda outfit claimed "She is not a journalist and has never trained journalists at the Thomson Reuters Foundation". " Which is strange because she's a "project manager..." with them and they deal in nothing but well..."training journalists". but they say "she was there on a holiday and never worked to train journalists in the country." hmmmm... It would seem reasonable clear that Zaghari-Ratcliffe's chosen line of work was to be a western propaganda apparatchik and being Iranian she obviously specialised in the Iranian spere. The only question is was she active when in Iran as the Iranians (and Boris) claim or indeed on holiday? She went there on an Iranian passport. Its hard to be be surprised or shocked by the Iranian government arresting and jailing one their own citizens who openly works for foreign organisations clearly intent on destabilising their country.
