It's a bad analogy. First of all, there is not even a pretextual casus belli, even if it were determined the virus came from a lab leak in Wuhan. The reason is because the US was up to its eyeballs in the that lab's criminal bioweapons - aka "gain-of-function" research. The story is as much a case for attacking the US as China. The real scandal in all of this is the fact that such potentially catastrophic, morally atrocious research continues and is funded by US taxpayers to the tune of billions of dollars and that there are vested interests, beneficiaries of that largesse, who have and continue to put their own narrow interests above the welfare of humanity. The reason the WHO investigations into the origins of the virus were so farcical is that those same vested interests were part of the fact-finding mission. If Covid-19 was the result of a lab leak, both China and the US have every incentive to cover the fact up, which means there is little possibility, regardless of evidence, that the lab hypothesis will ever become widely accepted. Unless for some reason - maybe due a leak of another kind, i.e. a whistleblower - the publicly available evidence were to become too overwhelming to dismiss.
