Ha, well spotted Ken, not quite the same story, is it? Not sure about the protests being 'allowed', plenty have been arrested as the beeb article mentions, and expect draconian sentencing to be handed out in due course... Here's the unverified LBC phone call fyi: Personally I don't believe it for a second. It sounds rehearsed, the guy lays it on as thick as possible and the final comment of 'they [the IB protesters] should be turned into roadkill' (unchallenged by the presenter - 'how old is your mum?') is the perfect soundbite for the rightwing mouth-frothers, almost like it was deliberately served up to them... ITV news report featuring the footage of the woman saying she wanted to be let through to get to the hospital: Skeptical of these ambulance hold-up stories. XR always let emergency vehicles through, assume IB have similar protocols, but could be wrong... the spokesperson on ITV didn't have a solid response. I |
