That argument always makes me laugh. Isn't it odd how "shouldn't mix politics and sport" is always dragged out when someone is defending a sport/team who are patronising some horrendous regime? Speaking of horrendous regimes, it seems David Beckham has accepted $150m to be the face of Qatar for the World Cup 2021. Hopefully he will be made to regret this disgusting, greedy, amoral decision. It's going to be hard for him to square this with his supposed support for gay rights, etc. Not sure UNICEF will too impressed either.
