Roughly, the issue is that we have two groups: The first group, anti vaxxers, is afraid of dying from the vaccine. The second, is afraid of dying from the virus borne by the first group. The dilemma is how do we respect the rights of both groups. Cook's way of resolving matters is to dismiss the fears of the second group, those who fear dying of the virus: He says the vaccinated are safe from the non-vaccinated because they've been vaccinated. And, in any case, it's becoming more like "flu" thanks to "a mix of vaccines, boosters and better treatments" (Big Pharma in tandem with the NHS, no less). But he contradicts that when he elsewhere says, "the unvaccinated... pose a hazard to vulnerable fellow citizens". And elsewhere still, he says "vaccine protection wanes rapidly" and "The vaccines... effects... [are] disappointing in terms of immunity". He's all over the place. One thing is for sure: In any dispute, if one side fears the other side are going to kill them they may be willing to take measures to prevent that. Seeking to dismiss those fears out of hand is not going to resolve matters. |
